I really like this band, they got such a sludgetastic coolness about them. TORPOR swagger in between sludge, metal, doom and post metal with ease as if they've been writing this fantastic noise forever. Found another fave band of mine.

Doom and Black Metal cling in dark embrace as they sink into the depths of thick Nordic Sludge. Only drums, guitar, vocals, the whole is infinitely greater than the sum of its parts, to stunning effect. Vocals are raw, visceral, primal. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, closer Perish manages to take it all to another level. An unforgiving terrain, no light, the wild night reigns. Their other bands, Tombstones & Sâver, are a must listen, too.

Some may say the riffage is "relentless" and suggest that every song was "an epic that rolls like sinister thunder across the land". I find Merchant an underrated band that hopefully will one day have as much recognition as others.
